The Marantz BD 7003 Blu-ray Disc High Definition Player plays Blu-ray High Definition discs using 1080p signals. This can only be done through HDMI output only. For DVDs, there is a 1080p video upconversion. For the BonusView component, there is a BD Final Standard Profile. In Dolby Digital Plus sound, there is bitstream audio output through HDMI. This is also used for TrueHD and DTS-HD. In addition to the 1080p upconversion, there is also 720p/1080i video upconversion. This is used for the DVD.

On the audio visual side, there is one set of outputs which include component video, composite video and HDMI). Using the BD7003, you will see a great picture in both regular and HD DVD.
